• Do you think that structured Education for Peace, engineered into school programs, can contribute to combat war and violence?
For sure, “structured Education for Peace, engineered into school program, can contribute to combat war and violence.”
Everything we learnt at the formative stage of life usually has great impact in our lives as we grow into adulthood.
It is said,
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." [Proverbs 22:6].
This is exactly what it means to structure our education for peace.
Peace studies when taught from foundation to the highest level of education will certainly benefit the society at large.
This is because encountering peace studies from one level to another for over 12 years will surely stick in the hearts of those imparted and will become part of their lives.
The effect of peace studies will be like rubbing magnet on a metal for long.
Soon the metal will acquire the attributes of the magnet and become a magnet.
For humanity to combat war and violence we must first stop war and violence in our thoughts then naturally, our words will not utter war and violence.
In that case, we would not act out war and violence but peace.
However, peace cannot be taught in schools without stressing on love.
Let us know for certain that the word ‘peace’ is an attribute of LOVE.
Peace cannot exist where there is no love.
Peace only exist where there is love.
It is only those who love as God, can attain the attribute of peace.
